Gith reference to your letter of 2nd March
No.10089/19/20) and the reply from this Department of the 5th March regarding an application for permission to sell the "Singaporean" "Devawongse and "Phranang" to French subjects, I am directed by the Board of Trade to state that the Registrar General of Shipping and Seamen was advised by the Registrar of Shipping at Hong Kong that on December 29th,1919, the "Singaporean" was sold to Messrs. Frederick Levele and Company of Calcutta and registered in their name. As partnerships are not allowed to be registered as owners, a letter,
of which a copy is attached, was sent to the Registrar of Shipping by the Registrar General.
No reply has been received to that letter, but the Registrar General has now received from the
